Islamabad, February 26, 2026: Dr. Oumer Hussien Oba, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, paid a courtesy call on his Somali counterpart, Sheikh Nur Mohamed Hassan, at the Somali Embassy on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two ambassadors exchanged views on issues of regional importance and reviewed political, economic and security cooperation between Ethiopia and Somalia at both bilateral and regional levels.
Ambassador Dr. Oumer H. Oba reaffirmed Ethiopia’s firm commitment to working closely with neighboring countries to further strengthen peace and security in the region, noting that stability is essential for achieving shared goals of prosperity and sustainable development.
Ambassador Sheikh Nur Mohamed Hassan, in turn, reiterated Somalia’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Ethiopia, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing regional integration and fostering mutual growth.
