Islamabad, March 2, 2026: The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan Mr. Yusuf Sharifzoda, met with Professor Muhammad Salim Mazhar, Director General of the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in education, literature and cultural exchange.
According to officials, the meeting focused on expanding Tajik-Pakistani collaboration in the fields of science and education, language development, literature and cultural heritage.
Both sides discussed measures to deepen academic linkages, including facilitating exchanges of scholars and researchers, initiating joint research projects, and promoting the shared linguistic and cultural heritage of Tajikistan and Pakistan.
A key proposal under consideration is the preparation of a comprehensive book on Tajikistan aimed at introducing the country’s history, culture and contemporary developments to Pakistani readers. The two sides also deliberated on organizing cultural activities such as literary sessions and musical events to foster greater people-to-people contact.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement and expressed readiness to pursue mutually beneficial initiatives in the academic and cultural spheres.
