Islamabad, March 5, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday evening to discuss the evolving regional situation following reported drone attacks targeting Azerbaijan.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders expressed serious concern over the escalation in the region and the drone strikes carried out earlier in the day.
During the conversation, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Azerbaijan and its people, emphasizing the need for restraint and immediate de-escalation to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
He stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remained essential for maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Both foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact to monitor the evolving developments.
