Islamabad, March 6, 2026: Ambassadors of ASEAN member states stationed in Islamabad met to review ongoing initiatives and discuss future collaborations aimed at enhancing the bloc’s visibility and engagement with partners in Pakistan.
The meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) Heads of Mission was attended by Philippine Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez and hosted by Indonesian Ambassador Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, the current Chair of the ACI.
During the session, ASEAN envoys discussed a range of ongoing activities and explored plans for upcoming joint initiatives designed to promote greater cooperation and outreach in Pakistan. The meeting also served as a platform for the diplomats to exchange views on regional developments and matters of mutual interest, while reinforcing coordination among ASEAN missions based in Islamabad.
Ambassador Fernandez reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to supporting collaborative ASEAN initiatives that strengthen regional solidarity, promote cultural outreach, and enhance people-to-people connections between ASEAN member states and Pakistan.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Sukotjo hosted an Iftar dinner for the participants, providing a cordial setting for further discussions and strengthening camaraderie among members of the ASEAN diplomatic community in Islamabad.
