Islamabad, March 9,2026: Marking International Women’s Day, Portugal has renewed its commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls across the world.
In a message issued on the occasion, Portugal reaffirmed its support for initiatives aimed at promoting the empowerment of women and ensuring their full, equal, and meaningful participation in all spheres of life.
The statement emphasized that Portugal remains dedicated to strengthening efforts that enhance the role of women in social, political, and economic development.
Portugal also reiterated its commitment to continuing the promotion of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda, which focuses on increasing women’s participation in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and decision-making processes at all levels.
