Islamabad, March 10: Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, along with his spouse Alicia Kalaw-Fernandez, attended a special celebration marking International Women’s Day at the Serena Hotel Islamabad.
The event was hosted by Aziz Boolani, Global CEO of Serena Hotels, as part of the “Mehfil-e-Samaa” Ramadan gathering. The program featured a symposium focusing on the role of women in advancing rights, justice, and leadership within communities.
The gathering was followed by a cultural segment that included a traditional Qawwali performance by renowned artist Imran Aziz Mian, adding a spiritual and cultural dimension to the evening.
Ambassador Fernandez’s participation reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and encouraging cultural dialogue. The event also highlighted efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties and the longstanding friendship between the Philippines and Pakistan.
