Islamabad, March 11, 2026: Convener of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) and Member of the National Assembly Natasha Daultana called on the Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan, Andrei N. Metelitsa, at the Belarusian Embassy in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Daultana highlighted the important role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in promoting parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening cooperation between the Parliament of Pakistan and legislatures of friendly countries. She emphasized the need to further enhance parliamentary engagement between Pakistan and Belarus.
She also invited the ambassador to visit the National Assembly of Pakistan to interact with members of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group. According to her, such engagement would help facilitate a virtual meeting between the Pakistan–Belarus PFG and its counterpart in the Belarusian parliament.
Ambassador Metelitsa welcomed the initiative and underlined the cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and Belarus. He recalled recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, including the visit of the Belarusian prime minister to Pakistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in 2024, the visit of the Belarusian president to Pakistan in November 2024, and the visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to Belarus in August 2024 along with a parliamentary delegation.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced parliamentary cooperation and continued engagement between the two countries.
