Rawalpindi, April 6, 2026: Pakistan and Egypt have commenced the two-week bilateral counter-terrorism exercise, Thunder-II, at the Special Operations School, Cherat. Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday that troops from the Special Services Group and the Special Forces of the Egyptian Army are participating in the exercise, aimed at enhancing professional skills and operational readiness through joint training. The opening ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Special Operations School as the Chief Guest.

The exercise seeks to strengthen the longstanding military-to-military ties between Pakistan and Egypt. Participating forces will benefit from the exchange of expertise and experience, particularly in planning and conducting counter-terrorism operations.
