Islamabad, April 7, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, during which both leaders discussed the escalating situation in the Middle East and emphasized the need for stability.

During the call, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the wake of ongoing attacks, including the reported strike on the Al Jubeil oil facility earlier in the day. He strongly condemned the attack and assured the Saudi leadership that Pakistan stands “shoulder to shoulder” with the Kingdom.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s measured and restrained response to the crisis, praising the leadership’s wisdom in avoiding further escalation. He highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and efforts to facilitate peace, noting that Islamabad is actively engaged with partner countries to de-escalate tensions in the region.

The premier briefed the Crown Prince on the latest developments in Pakistan’s mediation initiatives, aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Middle East. The Saudi Crown Prince, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and its continued efforts to promote dialogue and regional stability.

The prime minister also conveyed his warm regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reaffirming the deep-rooted ties between the two countries. The conversation reflects close coordination between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia amid a rapidly evolving regional security situation.
