Islamabad, April 10, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, received a telephone call from the Foreign Minister of France, Jean-Noël Barrot, on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

During the conversation, the French foreign minister congratulated Pakistan on its role in securing the initial ceasefire agreement and expressed support for Islamabad’s continued efforts to promote a diplomatic pathway toward lasting peace and stability in the region.

Both leaders also expressed concern over serious ceasefire violations in Lebanon, underscoring the importance of ensuring full implementation and strict adherence to the agreement. They emphasized that respecting the ceasefire is essential for maintaining regional stability and preventing further escalation.

Reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, the two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in economic, trade, and diplomatic spheres. They also pledged to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest and regional importance.

The development highlights Pakistan’s growing diplomatic engagement on the global stage and reflects the shared commitment of Islamabad and Paris to peace, stability, and constructive international cooperation.
