Islamabad, April 11, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with a high-level Iranian delegation during the Islamabad Talks today, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and was assisted by Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.
Appreciating Iran’s constructive engagement in the Islamabad Talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue playing its role as a mediator. He emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to facilitating dialogue and building momentum toward meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and global peace and stability.
From the Pakistani side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The high-level engagement underscored Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic efforts and its growing role as a facilitator of dialogue aimed at fostering regional harmony and international cooperation.
