Tajikistan envoy meets GIFT University and business leaders to boost academic cooperation

Islamabad, April 15, 2026: Yusuf Sharifzoda, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, held a meeting with the leadership of GIFT University and the Gujranwala Business Alliance to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in education, science, and academic exchange.

The envoy met with Muhammad Anwar, Founder and Chairman of GIFT University, and Ahmad Ikram Lone, Chairman of the Gujranwala Business Alliance (GBA). Discussions focused on expanding collaboration between Tajikistan and Pakistan, particularly in higher education and research.

During the meeting, both sides deliberated on prospects for launching joint academic programs, promoting faculty and student exchanges, and enhancing institutional linkages between universities in Tajikistan and Pakistan. The dialogue underscored the importance of educational diplomacy in fostering people-to-people contacts and mutual understanding.

As part of his visit, Ambassador Sharifzoda also interacted with students of GIFT University, exchanging views on academic opportunities, scholarships, and future cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the engagements, participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial partnerships and strengthening academic ties, reflecting the growing educational and cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan.
