Karachi, April 16, 2026: Hyderabad Kingsmen defeat RawalPindiz by 5 wickets to extend winning run in PSL 11 continued their impressive form in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 with a five-wicket victory over RawalPindiz side at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday, successfully chasing the target in 16.3 overs.

Chasing 122, the Kingsmen reached the target for the loss of five wickets, driven by key contributions from skipper Marnus Labuschagne, Kusal Perera, and Irfan Khan Niazi.

The chase suffered an early setback when Maaz Sadaqat was dismissed for 4 by Asif Afridi in the opening over. Despite a brief stabilizing stand between Labuschagne and Saim Ayub, Rawalpindi’s bowling attack struck back through Mohammad Amir and others to reduce Hyderabad to 68-4 inside nine overs.

A major blow followed when Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for a first-ball duck, leaving the Kingsmen under pressure. However, Kusal Perera and Irfan Khan Niazi steadied the innings with a composed 50-run partnership, guiding the side past the 100-run mark and shifting momentum firmly in their favour.

Perera remained unbeaten on 32 off 24 balls, while Irfan Khan Niazi contributed a fluent 34 off 29 deliveries as the pair sealed the chase in the 17th over.

Batting first, RawalPindiz were restricted to 121 for 9 in 20 overs after a disciplined bowling performance from Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Early breakthroughs came through Glenn Maxwell and Mohammad Ali, who removed Usman Khawaja and skipper Mohammad Rizwan respectively, leaving Rawalpindi struggling at 20-2.

Young pacer Hunain Shah then made a significant impact, striking repeatedly to dismantle the middle order, while Mohammad Ali also returned with a strong spell, finishing with three wickets.

Despite a brief resistance from Sam Billings and Yasir Khan, Rawalpindi continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and never recovered from early setbacks.

Mohammad Ali and Hunain Shah emerged as the standout performers for Hyderabad Kingsmen, both claiming three wickets each. Asif Mehmood and Glenn Maxwell also chipped in with crucial breakthroughs to ensure Rawalpindi were kept below par.

The victory further strengthens Hyderabad Kingsmen’s winning momentum in PSL 11, underlining their strong all-round performance in both batting and bowling departments.
