Islamabad, April 24, 2026: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Punjab chapter has announced a province-wide membership and public outreach campaign starting April 25, aimed at expanding its grassroots network and mobilising support for a broader political movement.

The announcement was made by Punjab Ameer Dr. Tariq Saleem while addressing party workers at a district gathering in Rawalpindi. Senior leaders Syed Arif Shirazi and Usman Akash also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. Tariq Saleem said the campaign would focus on reaching every city, town, and village across Punjab to enroll new members and strengthen the party’s organisational structure.

He added that participants would also be mobilised for the party’s planned nationwide movement titled “Baddel Do Nizam” (Change the System), which is expected to be launched after Eid.

Highlighting the objectives of the upcoming movement, the JI leader called on the public to unite against what he described as the dominance of “capitalists, landlords, and corrupt mafias,” and to work towards eliminating the interest-based economic system.

He argued that Pakistan’s current governance and economic model was “exploitative and unjust,” and said meaningful national progress would not be possible without structural reforms.

Dr. Tariq Saleem pointed to rising inflation, heavy taxation, and prolonged load-shedding as key challenges faced by ordinary citizens, contrasting these hardships with what he termed the continued privileges enjoyed by the elite.

“Under such conditions, the existing system has become incompatible with public welfare,” he said.

Appealing particularly to young people, he urged them to actively participate in the movement for change and contribute to transforming the country’s political and economic landscape.

Party workers were directed to take the message of Jamaat-e-Islami to neighbourhoods across Punjab, maximise membership enrolment, and establish local-level public committees.

Concluding his address, Dr. Tariq Saleem announced that a large-scale movement would formally begin after Eid, reiterating that the party welcomes all individuals seeking a system based on justice, fairness, and accountability.
