Islamabad, April 30,2026: Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the recognition framework for medical, dentistry and alternative medicine educational institutions in Pakistan.
According to an official statement, the meeting examined existing regulatory mechanisms and discussed measures aimed at improving transparency, standardisation and the overall quality of education in medical institutions across the country.
During the meeting, the deputy prime minister emphasised the need to strengthen accreditation processes and ensure alignment with international best practices in medical education.
Participants agreed that the meeting would reconvene next week after receiving recommendations from the Ministry of National Health Services and other relevant stakeholders to continue deliberations on the matter.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers for climate change and national health and regulations, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the secretary of national health and regulations, along with senior officials from the concerned ministries.
