Makkah/Islamabad, May 6, 2026: Preparations for the stay of pilgrims in Mina—the world’s largest temporary tent city—have entered their final stages ahead of Hajj 2026, with authorities ensuring modern facilities and improved management systems for pilgrims.

Makkah Coordinator Zulfiqar Khan, while briefing media representatives during a visit to model camps, said that arrangements for lodging, catering, and essential services have been finalized in line with international standards. The objective, he noted, is to enable pilgrims to perform their religious obligations with peace of mind and full concentration.

Highlighting key upgrades, Khan said that ‘sofa-cum-beds’ have been introduced in the camps for the first time to enhance comfort. To address long-standing challenges in locating assigned spaces, each tent will display detailed information, including bed numbers and names of pilgrims. Additionally, all accommodation data has been integrated with the Pak Hajj App, allowing pilgrims to easily locate their tents and beds via mobile devices.

Given the intense heat conditions, special focus has been placed on cooling and ventilation systems. High-efficiency air conditioners have been installed for every block of 32 beds, with daily performance monitoring in place. Tents have also been equipped with improved storage solutions and hangers to ensure better space management and reduce overcrowding.

On the healthcare front, dedicated dispensaries and clinics have been established within the camp premises. These facilities will operate круглосуточно with a doctor and two paramedics on duty, and will be equipped with oxygen cylinders and essential first-aid supplies to handle emergencies.

Khan attributed the timely completion of these arrangements to close coordination between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and Pakistani authorities. He added that teams from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony are fully deployed on the ground to facilitate pilgrims, urging them to focus solely on their عبادات while authorities manage all logistical aspects.

Deputy Coordinator Operations Sadaqat Ali Awan reiterated that the mission’s priority extends beyond accommodation, aiming to provide a stress-free environment for Pakistani pilgrims. He confirmed that staff of the Pak Hajj Mission will remain available round-the-clock to address any issues, emphasizing that serving pilgrims is both a responsibility and a religious duty.
