Pakistan defeats Australia in Perth to secure historic series win

Perth, November 10,2024- Pakistan clinched a historic victory over Australia in the 3rd ODI in Perth, winning by eight wickets to claim their first bilateral series in Australia in 22 years. After Australia elected to bat first, their innings faltered against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. Shaheen Afridi led with three key wickets, and Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah backed him up effectively, helping bowl out Australia for a modest 140 in 31.5 overs. Sean Abbott (30 runs) was the only Australian batter to show resistance in an otherwise fragile batting performance​

In their chase of 141, Pakistan’s openers, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, set a solid foundation. Despite a couple of wickets, Pakistan remained composed as Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam steered the team to victory in 26.5 overs. T

his series win was especially sweet for Pakistan, marking their first series victory in Australia since 2002. Mohammad Rizwan praised the team’s resilience and credited the bowlers for their outstanding performances in Australian conditions​

Australia’s captain, Josh Inglis, acknowledged the team’s struggles, noting the batting failures as a key issue, while Player of the Match and Series, Haris Rauf, expressed his gratitude for the team’s efforts and support from fans worldwide.
