Green shirts receive widespread praise for historic ODI series win against Australia

Perth, November 10, 2024 – Pakistan’s national cricket team has garnered national acclaim following its historic One-Day International (ODI) series victory over Australia, ending a 22-year wait for an ODI series win on Australian soil. The victory has sparked celebrations across Pakistan, with leaders from all sectors commending the team’s outstanding achievement.

President Asif Ali Zardari hailed the team’s success as a “significant achievement” and commended the players and management for their remarkable performance. In a statement from the President’s Secretariat, Zardari praised the team’s discipline and expressed confidence that they would maintain this momentum in upcoming matches.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif joined in the celebration, describing the victory as a moment of “immense national pride.” In a statement, he applauded the team’s hard work and determination, emphasizing the contributions of both the bowlers and batsmen and lauding the collective effort that led to the historic win.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also praised the team, calling the victory over a formidable Australian side on their home ground an “accomplishment that has made the nation proud.” Naqvi highlighted the players’ skillful performances across fielding, bowling, and batting, which paved the way for a comprehensive win.

The team’s efforts were widely celebrated by leaders such as Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who praised the bowlers, especially Shaheen Afridi, for their pivotal roles. Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori also congratulated the team, celebrating Pakistan’s success in clinching a crucial series win on Australian soil.

This series win has reaffirmed Pakistan’s cricketing potential on the global stage, with fans and officials alike hopeful for continued success in future competitions.
