Islamabad, May 17, 2026: The government of Netherlands on Saturday reiterated its commitment to human dignity, equality and respect for all individuals, emphasizing that discrimination in any form is unacceptable.

In a statement issued on May 17, the Netherlands said all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, reaffirming the universal principles of human rights and equality.

“Every year on May 17, the Netherlands reaffirms the importance of dignity, equality and respect for all,” the statement said.

The Dutch government further stressed that discrimination could never be justified and called for continued efforts to promote inclusivity, mutual respect and equal rights for all members of society.

May 17 is internationally observed in many countries as a day highlighting the importance of equality, non-discrimination and human rights.
