Islamabad, May 19, 2026: Pakistan and Russia held the 16th meeting of the Russia-Pakistan Consultative Group on Strategic Stability in Moscow, where both sides discussed key issues related to international security, global stability, arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation.
According to a joint press release issued on Tuesday, the meeting was co-chaired by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Additional Secretary at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tahir Hussain Andrabi.
During the detailed exchange of views held on May 18, the two sides discussed a wide range of regional and international security matters, including strategic stability and arms control-related developments.
The statement noted that both countries demonstrated convergence in their approaches on most of the issues discussed during the meeting.
Pakistan and Russia also reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and engagement at relevant international forums on matters related to strategic stability and global security.
The two sides agreed to hold the 17th meeting of the Russia-Pakistan Consultative Group on Strategic Stability next year in Islamabad.
