Rawalpindi, May 21, 2026: An investiture ceremony to confer military awards upon officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, attended the ceremony as chief guest and conferred awards upon the families of martyrs, officers, and soldiers in recognition of exceptional gallantry during operations and distinguished services rendered to the nation.

The military decorations conferred during the ceremony included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) awards and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat medals. Posthumous awards were received with honour by the families of Shuhada.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s brave soldiers remain a source of enduring pride for the nation.

“Shuhada and Ghazis remain the enduring pride of the nation. Their honour and sacrifice are a sacred trust for every Pakistani. Peace and security of our motherland are owed to their supreme sacrifices and unwavering devotion to duty,” he stated.

The Army Chief also expressed profound admiration for the resilience, dignity, and steadfastness shown by the families of martyrs, acknowledging their unparalleled sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the homeland.

Commending the operational preparedness and determination of the Pakistan Army and Law Enforcement Agencies, Field Marshal Asim Munir praised their continued efforts against terrorism and reaffirmed that the fight against militancy would continue with full national resolve until lasting peace and stability are achieved across the country.
