Islamabad/Dushanbe, June 18, 2026: President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has congratulated Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his role in facilitating the peace agreement between the United States and Iran, describing the development as a significant diplomatic achievement with far-reaching implications for regional and global stability.

In a congratulatory message sent to the Pakistani premier, President Rahmon commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his effective mediation efforts that contributed to the successful conclusion of the agreement.

“With all due respect, I sincerely congratulate you on your effective role as a mediator in reaching a peace agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the Tajik leader said.

President Rahmon praised the Prime Minister’s determination and diplomatic engagement, noting that his tireless efforts and strong resolve had helped address a highly sensitive international issue.

He said the agreements reached between Washington and Tehran were of immense importance for ensuring lasting peace in the Middle East, strengthening the international security architecture, and promoting sustainable economic and social development worldwide.

According to the Tajik President, the accord also creates a solid foundation for future peace initiatives and reinforces the value of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving complex international disputes.

President Rahmon reaffirmed Tajikistan’s longstanding commitment to peaceful conflict resolution and welcomed the agreement as an important step toward regional and international stability.

“The Republic of Tajikistan, as a peace-loving country and a supporter of resolving all disputes and conflicts through negotiations and dialogue, sincerely welcomes this important diplomatic achievement,” he stated.

Expressing confidence in the future of bilateral relations, the Tajik leader voiced hope for the continued expansion of cooperation and friendship between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

He also extended his best wishes to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for good health and continued success, while conveying his hopes for peace, stability, prosperity and lasting development for the people of Pakistan.

The message adds to a growing number of international endorsements of Pakistan’s diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding aimed at ending months of tensions and laying the groundwork for a comprehensive peace settlement
