Islamabad, June 19, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will travel to Cairo on June 21 to participate in the 4th Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the R-4 Group of Countries, the Foreign Office announced on Friday.
The meeting, being hosted by Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, will bring together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan to discuss key regional developments and exchange views on issues related to peace, security, and stability.
According to the Foreign Office, the ministers will review the outcomes of previous R-4 meetings and explore ways to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During his visit, Dar will hold bilateral consultations with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, and is also scheduled to call on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing Pakistan-Egypt cooperation across a range of sectors, while also addressing regional and international developments of shared concern.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, and views the R-4 framework as an important platform for consultation and coordination among the four countries.
“The R-4 framework reflects the participating countries’ shared commitment to consultation, cooperation, and coordinated efforts in support of regional peace and prosperity,” the statement said.
The Cairo meeting comes amid evolving regional dynamics and is expected to provide an opportunity for the participating countries to coordinate their positions on major political and security issues affecting the region.
