Islamabad, June 21, 2026: Dr. Shahida Rehmani, MNA and Secretary of the Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), paid rich tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on the occasion of her 73rd birth anniversary, acknowledging her unparalleled contributions to democracy, women’s empowerment, and the political development of Pakistan.

Dr. Shahida Rehmani, MNA, stated that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was a visionary leader whose courage, resilience, and commitment to democratic values continue to inspire generations of Pakistanis. As the first woman Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Muslim world, she broke barriers and paved the way for greater participation of women in politics and public life.

“Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not only a political leader but also a symbol of hope, progress, and empowerment for women across Pakistan and beyond. Her struggle for democracy, human rights, and social justice remains a guiding light for all those working towards an inclusive and prosperous society,” Dr. Shahida Rehmani remarked.

She further noted that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto championed policies aimed at improving education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for women and marginalized communities. Her legacy continues to influence efforts to strengthen democratic institutions and advance gender equality in Pakistan.

Dr. Shahida Rehmani emphasized that the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus remains committed to carrying forward Benazir Bhutto’s vision of a democratic, tolerant, and equitable Pakistan where women have equal opportunities to contribute to national development.

On this occasion, Dr. Shahida Rehmani urged the younger generation, particularly young women, to draw inspiration from Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s determination, leadership, and unwavering dedication to public service.
