Islamabad, July 14, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review nominations for the conferment of Pakistan’s Civil Awards, emphasizing that the selection process must remain transparent, fair and strictly merit-based.
During the meeting, Dar said the Civil Awards are meant to honour individuals who have rendered outstanding services to Pakistan and stressed that only deserving candidates should be recognised through a credible and impartial process.
He also highlighted the importance of acknowledging the valuable contributions of overseas Pakistanis, calling for deserving members of the diaspora to receive due recognition for their services to the country.
The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, the Cabinet Secretary, and senior officials from the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.
The participants reviewed nominations for the national civil awards and discussed measures to ensure the integrity and transparency of the selection process.
