Islamabad, July 18,2026: The Chairperson National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC), Ms. Ayesha Raza Farooq welcomed the Ambassador of Sweden Alexandra Berg von Linde, and First Secretary, Lovisa Hofmann (Head of Political Affairs & Business Promotion) at the NCRC Office for a wide-ranging discussion on advancing children’s rights in Pakistan.
The two sides exchanged views on protecting and promoting the wellbeing of every child, with a particular focus on the girl child. Gender equality remained a central theme, underscoring that empowering girls and engaging boy and men are essential to building an inclusive society.
The conversation also highlighted the immense potential of Pakistan’s young population and the need to invest in children as agents of change. Exploring avenues for collaboration, the Chairperson and the Ambassador discussed joint awareness-raising campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and child participation as means to strengthen protection frameworks.
The NCRC looks forward to working closely with the Embassy of Sweden to ensure that every child’s rights are recognised, protected, and fulfilled.
