Islamabad, July 18, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to discuss the evolving regional security situation and efforts to maintain peace and stability.
During the conversation, Sheikh Jarrah expressed Kuwait’s serious concerns over the continued attacks on its territory and voiced hope that all parties would exercise restraint and fully implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
He also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and mediatory role in promoting dialogue and regional stability.
Dar underscored the urgent need for de-escalation and stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states. He emphasized that maintaining regional peace and security must remain the foremost priority.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of upholding ceasefire commitments under the Islamabad MoU and avoiding any actions that could further escalate tensions.
The two foreign ministers agreed to remain in close contact on issues of mutual interest.
