Abu Dhabi, July 19, 2026: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed deep concern over recent developments in the region, urging all parties to immediately halt the escalation and prevent further deterioration of regional security and stability.
In a statement, the UAE called for the exercise of maximum restraint to avoid dangerous repercussions and prevent the region from being drawn into new levels of violence and instability.
The UAE also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a swift return to negotiations, emphasizing that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving conflicts and preserving regional peace.
Highlighting the importance of global trade and energy security, the UAE stressed the need to ensure safe and uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing the strategic waterway as vital to the global economy.
The statement further condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure and facilities across the region, including schools, universities, hospitals, desalination plants, energy installations, transportation hubs and residential areas. It said such attacks constitute a flagrant and serious violation of the principles and provisions of international law and cannot, under any circumstances, be accepted or justified.
