Islamabad, July 24, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and cooperation within multilateral forums.
According to the Foreign Office, the meeting featured a warm and productive exchange of views on issues of mutual interest, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the longstanding Pakistan-China partnership.
During the meeting, Senator Dar thanked Foreign Minister Wang Yi for appreciating Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, as highlighted in the Chinese foreign minister’s remarks during the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi also conveyed his best wishes to Pakistan for its upcoming chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) and for successfully hosting the SCO Summit in 2027.
The meeting underscored the close coordination between Pakistan and China on regional and international issues and reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to enhancing cooperation through bilateral and multilateral platforms.
