Islamabad, July 24, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has promoted Lieutenant General Aamer Raza, HI(M), SBt, Chief of the General Staff of the Pakistan Army, to the rank of four-star general and appointed him as Commander National Strategic Command.
The announcement was made by the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated General Aamer Raza on his promotion and new appointment, expressing confidence in his leadership and wishing him success in carrying out the important national responsibility.
General Aamer Raza has been serving as the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of the Pakistan Army and will now assume the responsibility of leading the National Strategic Command following his elevation to the rank of a four-star general.
