Islamabad, July 27, 2026: The Senate Standing Committee on Railways on Monday adjourned its meeting indefinitely after expressing concern over the absence of the Federal Minister or Minister of State for Railways.

The meeting, chaired by Senator Shahadat Awan, was attended by committee members Senators Dost Ali Jeesar and Nasir Mehmood at Parliament House.

At the outset of the proceedings, Chairman Shahadat Awan and the committee members noted that neither the Federal Minister nor the Minister of State for Railways was present to attend the meeting.

The committee unanimously observed that the presence of either the Federal Minister or the Minister of State was essential for conducting the committee’s business effectively.

In view of the ministers’ absence, the committee decided to call off the meeting and adjourned the proceedings sine die.
