Islamabad, July 29, 2026: Pakistan delivered a commanding performance to defeat Bangladesh 3-0 in the final and win the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Volleyball Championship at the Liaquat Gymnasium on Wednesday.
The national team displayed complete dominance throughout the summit clash, winning the opening set 25-20 before producing an even stronger performance in the second set, which they secured 25-16.
Pakistan maintained their momentum in the third set and closed out the match with another 25-20 victory to complete a comprehensive triumph over Bangladesh.
The victory marked Pakistan’s third CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship title, following their previous successes in 2022 and 2024.
The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) congratulated the national team, coaching staff, officials and supporters for the historic achievement, describing it as another milestone in the country’s growing presence in international volleyball.
“Throughout the championship, Pakistan showcased world-class volleyball, remarkable teamwork, unwavering determination, and exceptional sportsmanship. Backed by the passionate home crowd, the Green Shirts delivered dominant performances to lift the prestigious CAVA Championship Trophy,” the federation said in a statement.
Pakistan entered the tournament in impressive form, beginning their campaign with a straight-set victory over Sri Lanka on July 22 before defeating Bangladesh in another 3-0 win the following day.
The Green Shirts continued their unbeaten run by securing straight-set victories against Nepal, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the league stage to qualify for the semi-finals.
In the knockout stage, Pakistan faced Sri Lanka once again and sealed another convincing 3-0 victory to book their place in the final. The hosts completed the entire tournament without dropping a single set, underlining their dominance throughout the championship.
The triumph has further strengthened Pakistan’s reputation as an emerging force in international volleyball and provided a major boost ahead of future continental competitions.
