Amman, August 5, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman, where the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on key regional developments.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides welcomed the growing momentum in Pakistan-Jordan relations and agreed to enhance collaboration across political, defence, economic, educational, cultural and people-to-people sectors.
The two leaders also discussed the deteriorating situation in the Occupied West Bank, with Dar appreciating Jordan’s steadfast role in safeguarding the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and its continued support for the Palestinian people.
The meeting also covered broader regional developments, including recent developments involving Iran and the United States. Both leaders stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.
Dar and Safadi reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, including at the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to promote regional peace, stability and cooperation.
