Amman, August 5, 2026: Pakistan and Algeria have agreed to intensify efforts to strengthen bilateral relations across multiple sectors following a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting in Support of Jerusalem and its Holy Sites in Amman, Jordan.
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers reviewed the current state of Pakistan-Algeria relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation by activating existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms at the earliest opportunity.
Both sides agreed to redouble efforts to expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the friendly relations between the two countries and their shared desire to deepen political, diplomatic and economic engagement.
The two leaders also exchanged views on key regional and international developments, with particular focus on the Palestinian issue and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East and underscored the importance of coordinated diplomatic efforts to promote peace and regional stability.
The Algerian side also appreciated Pakistan’s ongoing mediation and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East, while both ministers reaffirmed the importance of continued consultation and cooperation on issues of common concern at regional and international forums.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting in Support of Jerusalem and its Holy Sites, convened in the Jordanian capital to discuss developments in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and coordinate international efforts in support of the Palestinian cause.
