Islamabad, August 6, 2026: Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Kheal Das Kohistani met Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy Natalie Baker in Islamabad on Wednesday, where the two sides discussed interfaith harmony, religious freedom and the welfare of minority communities in Pakistan.
During the meeting at the US Embassy, the state minister highlighted the government’s efforts to promote religious harmony and strengthen the protection of minority rights.
Kheal Das Kohistani briefed the US chargé d’affaires on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of religious minorities and informed her about the government’s initiatives, including the establishment and role of the Minority Commission.
The two sides also exchanged views on promoting interfaith harmony, mutual understanding and inclusive policies aimed at strengthening social cohesion and protecting the rights of all religious communities in Pakistan.
Both agreed on the importance of continued engagement and dialogue to foster religious tolerance and reinforce shared values of peace, coexistence and mutual respect.
