Lahore, August 7, 2026: Pakistan players selected for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) are expected to receive No Objection Certificates (NOCs) only after completing their commitments in the National Champions Cup 2026-27, according to media reports citing sources.
The 2026 CPL is scheduled to begin on August 7 and continue until September 20, with eight Pakistani cricketers drafted by four franchises — Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Jamaica Kingsmen, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Trinbago Knight Riders.
Of the eight players, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, Maaz Sadaqat and Sufiyan Muqeem have been named in the fixed playing XIs of teams participating in the National Champions Cup 2026-27. Hunain Shah and Usman Tariq are not part of the domestic tournament.
According to the report, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to issue NOCs only after the completion of the National Champions Cup, with players expected to be released from August 19 onwards.
The seven-match List A tournament will be played in Multan from August 11 to 18, overlapping with the early stages of the CPL.
The National Champions Cup forms part of Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 and is expected to play an important role in evaluating players and identifying emerging talent ahead of the global tournament.
The competition will feature four teams — Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites, Pakistan Blues and Pakistan Gold — competing in a single round-robin format. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the final on August 18.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet issued an official statement regarding the reported NOC schedule.
