Quetta, August 14, 2026: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove remained unhurt on Friday when his convoy came under armed attack in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung, leaving six people, including three police personnel, injured.
A senior police official said the attack took place as Langove’s convoy reached Khad Kocha while he was travelling from Kalat to Quetta.
The minister escaped unharmed, while six people sustained bullet injuries, including three policemen accompanying the convoy, according to the official.
Dr Sana of Nawab Raisani Memorial Hospital confirmed that six injured people were brought to the facility following the attack. Two of them were reported to be in serious condition, while two others were later referred to Quetta for further treatment.
Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace those responsible.
Langove, a senior leader of the Balochistan Awami Party, was sworn in as the provincial home minister in March. He had previously held the same portfolio but was de-notified on August 21, 2024, following which his appointment was declared null and void.
