Islamabad, August 20, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday received Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking a significant development in Pakistan-Syria relations.
The two foreign ministers are scheduled to hold a tête-à-tête followed by delegation-level talks to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and explore avenues for further strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Syria.
The visit is particularly significant as it marks the first foreign minister-level visit between Pakistan and Syria in nearly two decades.
The talks are expected to provide an opportunity for the two sides to exchange views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest and identify new areas for cooperation.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to strengthening its relations with Syria and promoting closer political, economic and diplomatic engagement between the two brotherly countries.
