Islamabad, September 5, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday appreciated the distinguished diplomatic service of Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Tahir Andrabi, during a farewell meeting in Islamabad.
Ambassador Andrabi paid a farewell call on the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, who acknowledged his contributions during various assignments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly his services as spokesperson and Additional Secretary for Arms Control and Disarmament International Security (ACDIS).
Ishaq Dar also appreciated Andrabi’s role in strengthening the Foreign Ministry’s strategic communication and effectively projecting Pakistan’s position on international and diplomatic issues.
The deputy prime minister expressed confidence that Ambassador Andrabi would continue to advance Pakistan’s national interests and further strengthen the country’s multilateral engagement in Geneva.
He particularly highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s ongoing presidency of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament and expressed confidence that Andrabi would contribute effectively to Pakistan’s diplomatic objectives in Geneva.
Dar wished Ambassador Andrabi success in his new responsibilities and commended his services to the country.
The farewell meeting underscored the government’s emphasis on strengthening Pakistan’s multilateral diplomacy and advancing its interests at key international forums.
