Islamabad, September 19,2026: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad Zone, has arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in separate cases involving visa fraud, illegal migration and human trafficking after remaining at large for 14 and 16 years.
According to the FIA spokesman, Abdul Rehman Abid Sahi, son of Muhammad Hussain, a proclaimed offender in Case No. 184/12, was arrested from Gujrat. The accused allegedly received Rs. 1.665 million from a complainant on the pretext of sending his brother to France but neither fulfilled the promise nor returned the money. He had remained absconding for 14 years.
In another operation, FIA arrested Ishtiaq Butt alias Zahid Butt/Ali Butt, son of Sikandar Butt, wanted in Case No. 235/10, from Kharian, Gujrat. The accused allegedly took Rs. 700,000 from a complainant on the promise of sending him to Greece. Investigations also revealed his alleged involvement in facilitating the illegal transportation of people to Greece through the Iran-Turkey “dunki” route. He had been absconding for 16 years.
The arrests were carried out by a team led by Inspector Zahid Bhatti, along with ASI Rafiq and Head Constable Alam Zeb, following sustained efforts and professional investigation.
The FIA Islamabad Zone reiterated its commitment to bringing individuals involved in visa fraud and human trafficking to justice, regardless of how long they remain at large.
