New York, September 23, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Austrian Minister for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Austria bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, economic relations, education and people-to-people contacts.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.
Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
The Austrian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and stressed the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement to address regional and global challenges.
Dar also stressed the importance of the full implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by all parties.
Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement on matters of mutual interest.
