New York, September 23, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with his Hungarian counterpart, Foreign Minister Anita Orbán, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Ishaq Dar congratulated Anita Orbán on assuming office and conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure.
The two foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Hungary relations and expanding cooperation in political, economic, trade and investment, business, education and people-to-people contacts.
Both sides emphasized the importance of holding regular bilateral consultative mechanisms to maintain momentum in bilateral engagement.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
Ishaq Dar underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remained the only viable means of addressing challenges and stressed the importance of all parties returning to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The two sides agreed to remain in close contact on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
