Islamabad, October 6,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday received UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan Stephen Doughty in Islamabad, with the two sides reviewing bilateral relations and regional developments.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on ways to further strengthen Pakistan-UK relations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, education, security and other matters of mutual interest.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments and expressed concern over the evolving situation in the region.
Ishaq Dar emphasized that sustained dialogue and diplomacy remained critical to addressing regional and global challenges.
The two sides agreed to work towards the early operationalization of the Pakistan-UK Bilateral Political Dialogue, aimed at providing a structured mechanism for strengthening bilateral engagement.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts by Pakistan and the United Kingdom to deepen cooperation across multiple areas of mutual interest.
