Rawalpindi, October 11,2026: Captain Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat struck impressive half-centuries to power Pakistan to a commanding 215/3 against Sri Lanka in the second T20I of the three-match home series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis’s decision to field first proved costly as Pakistan’s batters dominated the innings, with Farhan and Maaz leading the charge.
Openers Fakhar Zaman and Farhan gave Pakistan a solid start, adding 55 runs at a brisk pace before Maheesh Theekshana provided Sri Lanka with their first breakthrough in the seventh over, dismissing Fakhar for 22 off 17 balls, including four boundaries.
Maaz then joined his captain at the crease and helped maintain the momentum. The pair stitched together an 88-run partnership for the second wicket, during which Farhan brought up his 12th T20I half-century.
Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka eventually broke the partnership in the 15th over, removing Farhan for a fluent 73 off 44 balls, featuring five sixes and four fours.
Maaz continued the assault alongside Hasan Nawaz, with the duo adding a rapid 72 runs to take Pakistan past the 200-run mark.
Maaz narrowly missed his maiden T20I century when he was dismissed by Nuwan Thushara on the final delivery of the innings. The left-hander top-scored with 96 off 51 balls, striking seven fours and six sixes.
