Islamabad, October 12,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to integrate their databases and streamline the attestation of educational documents.
The initiative aims to simplify attestation procedures, improve transparency and strengthen the verification of educational credentials. Digital certificates and online services are expected to reduce processing delays and eliminate the need for physical visits in most cases, particularly benefiting overseas Pakistanis.
Speaking on the occasion, Ishaq Dar said improving consular services had remained a priority for him, highlighting the introduction of Pakistan’s Apostille system in 2024 as a key step in this direction.
He said the latest initiative would further improve access to attestation services, making them more efficient and convenient for Pakistanis living both at home and abroad.
The deputy prime minister appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders involved in advancing the initiative, particularly MoFA, HEC, the Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) and the National Information Technology Board (NITB).
