Islamabad, November 30, 2024-The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that its board meeting scheduled for today to discuss the hosting of the Champions Trophy will not take place.

According to sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has requested additional time to respond, following Pakistan’s resolute position on the matter. The meeting is now expected to take place within the next 48 hours.

Insiders report that Pakistan has consulted with various stakeholders since yesterday’s meeting. Despite these discussions, Pakistan’s stance remains unchanged, maintaining its initial position firmly.

Pakistan has emphasized that progress will hinge on the ICC presenting a reasonable and workable solution. Any proposal deemed acceptable by the ICC will be considered by Pakistan.

It is noteworthy that the ICC board meeting convened yesterday to address the future of the Champions Trophy was adjourned just 15 minutes after starting. During the brief session, it was agreed that Pakistan and India would collaborate with the ICC to identify a mutually acceptable solution for the tournament.
