Lahore, November 4,2026: Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Oumer Hussien Oba has announced that the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad will lead a Pakistani business delegation to Ethiopia from January 24 to 29, 2027, to explore trade and investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

The announcement was made during a business forum at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Wednesday.

Upon his arrival, the ambassador was warmly received by LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar, Vice President Khadim Hussain and other office-bearers.

Business delegation to explore investment opportunities

Addressing the business community, Dr. Oumer invited Pakistani companies operating in pharmaceuticals, surgical goods, textiles, agriculture, agro-processing, information and communication technology (ICT) and tourism to join the delegation and explore opportunities in Ethiopia’s growing economy.

He said the visit would provide Pakistani businesses with an opportunity to develop commercial links, identify investment prospects and strengthen business-to-business cooperation.

The ambassador also congratulated the LCCI president and newly elected office-bearers, wishing them success in their tenure.

Welcoming the ambassador, LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar assured the Ethiopian Embassy of the chamber’s full support in organising the delegation and facilitating the participation of Lahore’s business community.

He highlighted the potential for expanding bilateral trade, noting that Ethiopia offered opportunities for Pakistani businesses, while Pakistan’s market also held considerable potential for Ethiopian exporters and investors.

The LCCI president proposed a 90-day joint action plan with the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad to facilitate bilateral trade, which he said remained below its actual potential.

He also invited Ethiopian chambers of commerce to visit the LCCI, expressing confidence that direct engagement and business-to-business meetings would help strengthen commercial relations between the two countries.

LCCI Vice President Khadim Hussain delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the Ethiopian dignitaries and members of Lahore’s business community for participating in the forum.
