Bangladesh defeats Pakistan to qualify for U-19 Asia Cup final

Dubai, December 06,2024- Bangladesh secured a spot in the final of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup after defeating Pakistan by 7 wickets in the semi-final.

In the match played in Dubai, Pakistan batted first but were bowled out for just 116 runs in 37 overs. Farhan Yousuf scored 32, while Muhammad Riazullah added 28 runs to the total. Bangladesh’s Iqbal Hussain was the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets.

In response, Bangladesh comfortably chased down the target in the 23rd over with 3 wickets down. Captain Aziz Al-Karim led the charge with an unbeaten 61-run innings, ensuring his team’s place in the final.

In the other semi-final, India defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets to advance to the final. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 173 runs batting first, and India chased the target in just 22 overs. The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday between India and Bangladesh.
