Islamabad, December 19, 2024: President Asif Ali Zardari has underscored the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and fostering high-level exchanges with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to further solidify the longstanding fraternal ties between the two nations.

During a meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr with Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, and his delegation, President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening economic, political, and cultural collaboration with KSA for mutual benefit. The delegation was accompanied by members of the Shura Council.

Prominent attendees included Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki, members of Parliament, and senior officials.

Welcoming the Saudi delegation, President Zardari highlighted the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, grounded in shared faith, history, and culture. He emphasized the vast potential for expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and called for concerted efforts to realize this potential fully.

The President also voiced his concern over the escalating crisis in the Middle East, condemning Israeli aggression against civilians in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of these nations.

President Zardari conveyed his warm regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He extended prayers for King Salman’s health, well-being, and long life.

Both sides discussed the need to transform their enduring bilateral relationship into a more robust and strategic partnership. Dr. Al-Sheikh described his visit to Pakistan as highly productive, highlighting his fruitful discussions with Pakistan’s leadership and parliamentarians.

The Chairman of the Shura Council also conveyed greetings and best wishes from His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for President Zardari’s health and well-being.
