Rahim Yar Khan, January 5, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during his visit to Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday. The leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing economic, political, and cultural ties between their nations.

Upon arrival at the Rahim Yar Khan airport, the UAE President was warmly welcomed by PM Shehbaz, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and other dignitaries.

During their meeting, the leaders discussed a broad range of issues, including economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and promoting their mutual interests on the global stage, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his admiration for the UAE’s visionary leadership and its crucial role in Pakistan’s development and investment. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to deepen cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.

Sheikh Mohamed, in turn, highlighted the UAE’s strong interest in collaborating with Pakistan in sectors such as mining, minerals, and agriculture. He praised Pakistan’s economic stabilization and expressed optimism about its future trajectory under PM Shehbaz’s leadership. The UAE President also underscored the opportunities this economic recovery has created for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.

The UAE leader reiterated his country’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with Pakistan, stressing the importance of fostering people-to-people connections and shared prosperity.

Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE’s steadfast support during critical times, particularly in humanitarian aid and development assistance.

Both leaders concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to regional peace and progress, vowing to collaborate closely on mutual priorities. Their shared goal is to cultivate greater cooperation, especially in key sectors, ensuring a brighter future for both nations.

The longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the UAE is built on shared history, culture, and economic collaboration. The UAE is home to a significant Pakistani diaspora, whose remittances play a vital role in Pakistan’s economy. Additionally, the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian assistance, support for infrastructure development, and steadfast partnership during challenging times further solidify this enduring relationship. Both nations continue to collaborate in diverse sectors, including trade, energy, and technology, underscoring their commitment to mutual prosperity.
